Hurray! Jury duty was short and sweet–a total of 30 minutes. I’m happy to be back with “my kids”.

Ms K math: 20 total : use web site games for reinforcement, study link pgs. 37 and 41. Math facts study.

200 word entry for Captin Jaggery’s journal–stress is on using powerful vocabulary from Wordly Wise lessons 1-7.

2 hours today were dedicated to completing the first section of the Sign of the Beaver Project, the plot line. Tomorrow, another 2 hours will be designed to provide guidance while students complete this portion of the project. Students who have NOT completed this section by the close of the day tomorrow will be expected to work outside of class to finish the section. Directions and models of the plot line are given on the blog.

Kellogg Math : Journal p. 36 and handout page 42. Study facts through 12s.

HOMEROOM: (1)Wordly Wise lessons 1 to 6 will be reviewed this week. Test on spelling and vocab will be on Friday. Use your note cards to study!

(2) Megawords (a spelling program) Complete all pages through 17.

(3 )History “Codex” is due Friday.  Students are nearly done and will have one more class period to work towards completion. It is due Friday at 8:00 am.

4. Sign of the Beaver project: This is the first long term project of the year and will be due in three weeks. Students will be assisted in determining how to plan for a long term project and monitored as they go.  We will establish interim deadlines to plot out how to tackle a task like this.  It will be completed primarily in class. However, students do not all work at the same rate.  Students will learn when to plan additional time at home to match their work pace.  Although it is definitely NOT my intention , some may need to work on the final weekend to  complete the task on the due date.  A copy of the task is included in this blog. Parent signatures on the students’ written project outline will be due Thursday.

Tonight create a rough draft of the rising incidents of the plot line. They do not yet need to add the additional sentences. This is NOT an illustrated piece (yet).
